Alpha Delta Phi

Rush

What is rush?

Rush is the term for our recruitment process. The goal of Fraternity Rush Period is to provide information to everyone who makes an effort to learn about us. Rush Events are setup for the interested men who want to meet the brotherhood of Alpha Delta Phi and also for the brothers to get a chance to get to know some of you a little better.

Why go Greek?

Why become an Alpha Delt?

THE HOUSE
Our house is right on the Fraternity Quad, which is centrally located on campus. We have our own big screen TV, high speed internet, and billiards/foosball tables. At the heart of the house is our very own library, newly furnished with fine leather couches, and numerous original texts dating back to the 19th century. We also have our own cook who prepares lunch & dinner in our spacious kitchen. Almost all of the rooms in the house are designated as singles, most of which are almost as big as a dormroom double. The house also allows for the most unique parties on campus, because of its spacious first floor and basement. At many of our registered parties, we have a live band playing on the first floor and a live DJ in the basement.

ACADEMICS
Since the house is located 2 minutes from the academic quad, its painless to get to class or the library, even on those cold "rochester mornings". Every night of the school week, you can usually find at least a few brothers heading over to ITS, Carlson, or Rush Rhees library. We all have very diverse majors, so if you need help with homework or course selection, theres probably someone who can give you some help/advice. Another place to get work done is right in our own library, equipped with wireless highspeed internet. Many people think that being in a fraternity negatively affects your GPA, which is not true. Many of the brothers are on dean's list, or have engineering/science/double majors. We all know that the reason that we are here is to get a good education, not just to have a good time.

LEADERSHIP
Being in Alpha Delta Phi doesn't just mean being socially and academically active but also active all around campus. Becoming a leader within the house can help prepare you for leadership on campus as well as in the real world. There are many house positions that will allow new brothers to become acclimated to taking on house responsibility.

SOCIAL
We host numerous registered opened parties each year, but each weekend we usually have something informal going on anyways. In addition to open parties, we also have mixers about once a week. These are both great ways to meet new people on campus with diverse interests and backgrounds. Because our strong reputation with students and faculty alike, being an Alpha Delt will naturally get you a great deal of respect from almost anyone on campus.

BROTHERHOOD
Last on the list, but without a doubt the most important. The brothers are what make the fraternity. Being part of a bond that will last forever is what greek life is really all about. Having access to a network of brothers that spans over 150 years makes for an unbelievable experience throughout college and your life. Starting with your pledge class you will create friendships that will last forever. Throughout your personal, collegiate, and professional career you will have your new family there with you.
